Natsuki Koyata (古谷田 奈月) is a writer from Abiko, Chiba Prefecture, Japan. She made her debut in 2013 with Christmas for the People of the Stars (星の民のクリスマス, Hoshi no Tami no Kurisumasu), which won the Japan Fantasy Novel Award. Her 2016 novel, Release (リリース, Rirīsu), won the 34th Oda Sakunosuke Prize, and in 2018 she was awarded the 31st Mishima Yukio Prize for Gen Without End (無限の玄, Mugen no Gen). That same year, Scarlet in the Breeze (風下の朱, Kazashimo no Aka) was shortlisted for the Akutagawa Prize, Japan's most prestigious literary award. Her novel A Capricious Party Before the Gods (神前酔狂宴, Shinzensuikyōen) was awarded the Noma New Author Award in 2019, and her most recent published novel, In the Field (フィールダー, Fielder), was awarded the 8th Watanabe Junichi Award in 2023.
